'Forty One' - located at the heart of historic Galle Fort - is a large private three-bedroomed house that has been intelligently and stylishly converted into a romantic boutique villa by one of Sri Lanka's leading architects and interior designers. A really unique and personable house designed to accommodate all tastes and occasions, Forty One's magnetic charm has been known to persuade even the most outgoing of people to stay in.
While 'Forty One' has been sumptuously decorated with squashy sofas, interesting pieces of art, modern furniture and 21st century technological gadgets such as LCD TVs, a DVD player and iPod-compatible speakers its heritage has been carefully maintained through the enhancement of original features that include pillars and archways, high lime-washed ceilings and exposed wooden beams. The magnificent black and white chequer-board floor tiling is its most prominent feature and immediately catches your eye as you walk through the door.
The light and airy open plan rooms of the ground floor include an elegant formal dining area with bar, a pool-table room, a library and luxurious sitting area to enjoy those quiet and contemplative moments. The beautiful high-walled courtyard just outside provides the perfect place for private relaxation whether you are enjoying alfresco lunches on the terrace, cooling dips in the large pool or sundowners from the frangipani-shaded ambalama positioned in just the right place to watch sunset.
Forty One' comprises three beautifully furnished double bedrooms off the main house that come complete with air-conditioning, ceiling fans, soft white Egyptian cotton sheets and en-suite terrazzo bathrooms. While two of the bedrooms are located upstairs, all enjoy wonderful views over the courtyard garden and swimming pool from their individual private balcony or terrace.
The Master Bedroom is 'Forty One's' most lavish suite since it is furnished with a magnificent four-poster bed and features a living room with deep-cushioned sofas, a flat screen TV and iPod-compatible surround sound atop beautiful teak parquet flooring. A private sun lounging balcony is the ideal place to enjoy languid breakfasts overlooking the glistening pool. The bathroom is equally refined as it features a magnificent copper-plated bathtub.
The villa has a small staff that will assist you in the kitchen, clean daily and do your laundry.

Cancellation Policy All cancellations must be advised in writing and will take effect the day we receive it. Standard Cancellation Terms apply however where possible we voluntarily negotiate with the hotels and service providers on your behalf and refund all recoverable costs for cancellations beyond our terms and conditions. Our standard cancellation policy is as follows: Off Peak Period • If you cancel more than 45 days prior to arrival the deposit is non-refundable. • If you cancel between 30 and 45 days prior to arrival the cancellation is 40% of the villa price. • If you cancel between 15 and 29 days prior to arrival the cancellation is 60% of the villa price. • If you cancel between 14and 0 days prior to arrival the cancellation is 100% of the villa price. Payment Terms A deposit is payable to when you confirm your booking. The deposit amount may vary depending on the seasonality. We will advise the exact deposit. The deposit is non refundable and is taken on behalf of the property and is required to secure the accommodation. For all bookings once we receive the non refundable deposit we will provide you with a booking voucher with the full villa or hotel details giving confirmed dates and full details of the booking. In all villa bookings full payment must be received one month in advance. For a villa booking a security deposit equal to one day's rent may be payable on your arrival by way of cash. The deposit will be used as security for any damages and or charges incurred by you during your stay. This amount less any chargeable items will be returned to you upon departure. |
